Creating Map from Raw Drum Tracks?
Dear user group,
Hope you can help me solve a problem. A friend brought me some drum tracks he had recorded in another studio and not in Pro Tools. I have the aiff files for a printed click, kick, snare, and overhead. I have imported all into a session. I would like to somehow set this up so that I can work in grid mode. Is there a way to have pro tools "listen" to the printed click and then make a map so that I can start tightening things up? I have heard beat detecive might be of some help. What would be the step by step of how I can achieve this? Thanks for your support. |

Re: Creating Map from Raw Drum Tracks?
You need to use "Identify Beat." I believe the shortcut is just cmd + i but don't quote me on that I haven't used it in a while. If you have the click track, just use identify beat on that to set a few measures and the rest should fall into place just fine.

Re: Creating Map from Raw Drum Tracks?
Either Identify Beat or use Beat Detective on the (audio) click track to generate a tempo map.
