Default Whie Noise burst, 9073 Error, Defrag message.

Pro Tools 8.0.5
Using an older session as a template for a song.
Added 5 tracks for drums. Realized that I was using Sansamp in session and this has caused errors.
Used Elastic Audio Monophonic to tighten up bass guitar track. Rendered Processing, the X-Form, then committed. Replaced Sansamp with Pod Farm.
White Noise bursts started and 9073(4) message about not being able to access audio fast enough. Possible issues listed were fragmented drive or firewire issue.
Started new session, imported data. Same problem. Deleted new session, reboot, New session, import. Same message.
Deleted session, rebooted, new session, import all but bass track. issue gone.

The wireless connection is only to upload Sahdra. WIRELESS IS DISABLED ALL OTHER TIMES!

Not sure what the right answer is. If you searched for 'whitenoise' on this forum, you'd be reading for days. Since you used EA on the bass track and that seems to be the link, I'd try printing that EA'd bass track to another audio track and then try re-importing the new track instead.

I've actually heard a whitenoise burst on my rig only once. Can't believe it, after all that I've read here, that I haven't heard any more. I'm might be off, but I decided to quit upgrading and to stick with 8.0.1 because I've been reading nothing but pain and about whitenoise bursts for many who have upgraded. If there's a succinct answer to the problem, I'd like to hear about it to make me feel better about upgrading in the future.

2 possible things to consider. Some plugins(like those from IK Multimedia) will shoot a burst of noise when they are in demo mode, so check your plugins. Then try creating a new session and switch the sample rate(ie, if you WERE at 48K, make the new session at 44.1). Then import session data from the funky session. Sometimes the SRC will solve a corrupted audio file. No promises, but you never know

Thanks guys, but it wasn't the hiss of a smple plug in it was a full on white noise burst. I love the way Digi Support has abandoned us down here in 8.0 land. We are the hobos of the hobos.
Hey Avid! I am still a customer you know. You treated 6x and 7x users with respect but now that 9 is out we don't even exist to you.
