Default Folder tracks: collapsing disarms recording

Hi.

This might be a stupid question, but I can't find the answer elsewhere... If I create a folder track for e.g. my drum tracks, rec arm them and record on transport then everything is fine. However if I collapse the folder track, it disarms recording on the tracks inside the folder. This happens with both basic and routing folders.

Am I missing a preference somewhere or is this a feature?

Does the same on mine - probably by design.

One solution would be to add Input & Record Arm buttons to folders, so that the entire contents could be managed as if it was a single track. This would be incredibly useful for those managing massive sessions such as movie scoring etc, . . . especially since we now have 2048 voices available.
Although it could become a complete cluster&*@% if you wanted to exclude certain tracks within a folder from recording. I suppose record+disable could then be useful for those tracks.
The capability to expand/collapse folders while recording would certainly be very useful for session management while recording very long cues.

Having said all that, it will never happen because Avid doesn't trust Pro Tools users to not screw up - and they don't want their tech support lines flooded with panic calls.
