Is the firmware update mandatory in order to run Protools? I just need to check a bug, the fix list is a bit vague about it, and rather not update a working system...
If the bug is automation not following when fades are dragged, it's worse not better. I was getting around this on 2020.11 by trimming fades rather than dragging them, which seemed to work properly. But that too seems to be broken in 2021.3

It is exactly that! I've read "Fixed an issue where trimming clips with fades caused unpredictable results" thinking after 17 months they might have fixed it.

The bugfix notes are right though, now it's more consistent as both methods are bugged

Sticking to 2019.6 yet again

To be fair, I haven't tested this extensively. I immediately noticed this behavior in an session that has been ongoing for quite a while and has grown to be a fairly large and not well organized mess
I have also noticed 2021.3 having some stability issues and hanging on restoring a video file on one version (save as) of this session that 2020.11 still opens just fine. It could be this session, or something on my system. So let's see if the behavior I experienced can be confirmed by others before we condemn it completely. Still, I'm not holding my breath

I'm also wondering about 2021.3 and the firmware update for our HDX cards. Sometimes, we pop in an older hard drive to work on old PTHD10 projects. Wondering if this new HDX firmware update would work with PTHD10??

The readme claims backward compatibility with previous PT versions but gives no version details.
