Net Work
Ok, it has been on the boards sveral times, so I'll keep my question specific:
We're looking for a way to network around 5 PT sets (Mac) with a central fileserver: not just for storage, but for recording. Easy sessions (radiostation, so never more than a couple of tracks @ 16 bit). My questions: - Fibrechannel seems the only way. I was told that if one client would close down (or shut down due to powerfaillure), you can get into serious trouble when a recording is taking place at the same time on another client-set.... That true ? - Is it possible to record/bounce/playback to and from one server with say 5 clients using a Gigabit ethernet ? How reliable is that ? - Any better options ? DAVE ? DigiProNet ? Any tips and suggestions are highly appreciated !! ------------------ Arno Peeters Tape TV Productions |
