Default hp media center 1297c, buffer problems, plese help

Please Help, just bought a new HP media center 1297c, fully loaded. 1 gig ram, 2.3 ghz pentium 4, reala fast computer. I disabled hyperthreding, but i still get the -6086 buffer error message???? why, my computer is powerful. I've changed all the playback buffer options, still doesn't work when i record. someone please let me know if i'm going to be returning my pc. Thanks.
