Pre and post fader metering on each track independently.
http://protools.ideascale.com/a/dtd/...79?submitted=1
I submit that in the next itteration of Pro Tools, a button be placed at the bottom of each fader track to select deselect post fader metering. Instead of it being global, it would be nice to be able to set them independently this way you can keep the tracks you are about to record on as pre fader metering, and those you are done recording on as post fader metering. Vote up down, comment don't comment, just like to see where this idea would lead. |

Re: Pre and post fader metering on each track independently.
Call me old school, but my metering stays in Pre-fade, a good 99.8% of the time About the only time I use Post is if I am mixing something like a string section and have 12 violin tracks. I think we(in the DAW age) spend way too much time watching the screen instead of listening(can't tell you how often I just close my eyes). In the words of Obi Wan..."your eyes can deceive you.....don't trust them"

Re: Pre and post fader metering on each track independently.
It would also be useful to have the effects be pre or post fader individually on each track too.
Cheers,

very much so but you can always set a aux track to put your effect on and use the send as post fader to drive it. BUT it would be better as you're saying it yes.

Re: Pre and post fader metering on each track independently.
Setting it for each track just seems like an exercise in confusion to me
