I'm sorry but based on your question you are in need of way more help than anyone can realy give you hear.
You need to go be a tea boy in a working studio for at least 90 days and observe how things work. you are missing some critical equipment

Re: record guitar and microphones to my Pro-tools HD and while recording monitoring i
That missing equipment might include an introductory book on audio recording, or look around for a community college or similar recording/audio class. However you likely _do_ have enough equipment with the DI and mic preamps on the C|24, to do whatever you want, even if you have no other preamps etc., maybe not the best out there, but enough likely to do what you need. However we cannot guess what you are trying to achieve artistically or exactly doing, or even if you are talking about acoustic or electric guitar.
You can never really slice doing these things into a game of 20 questions. We don't know enough of what you are trying to do to offer a valuable opinion. And I suspect you really don't know enough of the questions to really ask. So do yourself a favor and spend the time understanding/learning what you need to know to do this. Once you follow that the C|24 manual tells you all you need to know to actually connect the correct things. If the manual does not make sense then my advice is hire a consultant and/or get help from a dealer. Somebody walking in and looking at your control room/studio and seeing what you really have and are trying to do should be able to offer much more useful advice and much more efficiently than you can get here by bouncing backwards and forwards with questions. |
