Default What -No DAE in New HD systems?

I have read that the new HD system does not contain a seperate DAE program as with the previous system. It is all now part of the protools program I gather???.

Where does this leave Logic Audio.

Well I hope there are other ways that company's like EMAGIC can interface with the new HD system, because if this is a way for digi to stop the 3rd party Audio/Midi support then I definately won't be going anywhere near the new stuff.

I, too, am waiting on the edge of my seat to find out about this. It could be a real deal killer for me.

Logic is important to me too. Big decision looming I'm afraid.

Same for me too. I just couldn't move to HD without Logic.

Hi guys...

DAE is still around, it has just changed from a separate application to a shared library. It still lives in the DAE folder, and it's functionality has not changed significantly--the only thing that has changed is the way Pro Tools links up to it at launch.

We are working very closely with Emagic to get Logic HD-compatible. They have an HD system and are testing Logic with it as we speak.

We'll let you know when it's ready to go...

Does this mean Logic 5.0 is going to support OSX and Protools? How is that possible if Digi isn't OSX ready? Or are we getting a different version of logic for us Pt users? Curious...

I thought there was going to be both an OS 9.x and OS X version of Logic.

I got an email reply from a customer rep at MOTU, and he said support of HD was 'being looked into'. No ETA given.
