Default How do I store audio on my external hardrive?

So I jsut got an mbox mini and have a new external hardrive that meets all the spec requirements on the digidesign page. When I installed pro tools a couple thigns went on there I think. But I want to open, save, and bounce sessions tot he hardrive. When I try to it says "the session must be on an audio record volume." Same when I try to bounce to it. I could drag an already recroded piece from my desktop into it but it was then uneditable.
Thanks
