Default Holy crap

I just CCC'd my G4 system drive over to a Seagate 160GB SATA, then plopped that drive, along with my audio files, into a first-generation Dual 2GHz G5.

Oh man

I ran X Bench and got a score of 182.99

My previous best score with my G4 Dual GHz was 125.11

The only catch: first time I opened PT, it UQ'd, but I ran System Optimizer and reopened PT with a few sessions and everything seems fine (aside from having to reauthorize my plugins).

Chris,, absolutely the best thread topic title I have ever seen here at the DUC.. It dragged me in here. I was interested.
Seriously, I am not being sarcastic, I LOVED this threads title. More people need to type stuff like that here, and it will liven up this place... I mean that is platinum,,, no description, no question, none of this "please help, please help" stuff,,,, just the simple, classic, rightous words (so welly placed) of "Holy Crap" --- Man I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!

And as far as your new set up,,,, congrats man !!! I am happy for you. Please keep us posted if any more Holy Craps come your way

X-bench is a free program that tests your system's performance.

It can be found here.

Wow, I got a 135.00 on my powerbook running off an external 7200 rpm drive. I guess that ol' system bus really clogged those dual g4's. sigh...I want a g5.

Yeah, my main bottleneck was my system drive - an older 2MB-cache 40GB Seagate Barracuda. It tested out in the low 70's on X Bench's Disk Test. My new SATA drives both test out in the mid 120's and they're not even the highest performing SATA drives available - not by a long shot. I wonder how the 74GB 10kRPM WD Raptor would test out in X Bench...
