Default Question for Digi 002 using rosetta 200?

I currently purchased a rosetta 200 to use to convert my vocals using its converters and also to use the rosettas clock when bouncing, instead of using the digi 002. However, I heard that I could use the optical cables from the rosetta and in to the 002 instead of using the S/pdif option. I tried using optical but i only got sound on the rosetta but not into the pro tools software. I have tried using the ADAT as well as the S/pdif option on the hardware set up and tried other things but nothing seems to work. So the way I am using it now is through S/pdif cables which work fine, but I want to hear how it sounds using the optical... Any body using optical cables from the rosetta to the 002?? or is this not possible? Also when bouncing a mix how do I process that mix through the rosetta and bypassing the 002's clock?? ANy suggestions will be greatly appreciated.. Thanks

Well as long as you have an undamaged ADAT Toslink cable going from the Rosettas ADAT out to the 002s ADAT input
and you have PT set to slave off the Rosetta by selecting ADAT as clock source in Hardware setup and you have an audio track with input set to ADAT 1/2 you should be fine.
Once you achieve this, any bounce to disk you do will be clocking off the Rosetta

Clocking over Lightpipe is less than desirable however as outlined on the Black Lion site
Not sure if your 002 has a BNC Wordclock input (my 002R doesn't(the 003 series do)) but that would be the best way to clock one from the other.

If it's a new Rosetta, taking advantage of its superior SRC,Aptomizer and UV22HR will require streaming a 24bit master THROUGH it.

Good luck

I'm new to this also, but found a way to pull it off.

I have a 002R and an Apogee AD16X
I track using the AD 16X into Logic as this gets me the full 16 channels of Apogee conversion by way of the X-Firewire card

Anyway basically I import my 24bit Stereo Master into Logic on my G4 Laptop and send it out the Apogees ADAT output into the 002R ADAT intput.
This is recorded into a 16bit LE session on my G5

So basically I'm streaming the audio from one separate DAW to another through the Apogee, as it applies its processing.

I did try it with both Logic and LE running on the G5 at the same time..and it worked...only LE recieved the stream about 3db lower than the other method...dont know why

Good luck

Further to that scenario....
I just finished a project in Logic Pro 7
This project was run on the 002R
Once finished i put the Apogee into advanced option routing with UV22HR on channels 1/2 and hooked Logic up to it.
This freed up Protools to use the 002R
So I sparked up Le (16bit session) and created a track with input AD 1/2
Hit Rec in LE and play in Logic
Result 16bit UV22HR Master....all done streaming audio in and out of 2 DAWS on the one machine
Sweet!
