Default Pro Tools 9 will not allow mp3 export

I have Pro Tools 9 installed on my mac running snow leopard 10.6.7. It will not let me export a bounce in mp3 format. It says, "the mp3 option cannot be enabled because:Module initialization failed for mp3.bundle. The mp3 demo period may have expired." This is rather odd seeing as I understood the PT9 included mp3 export and it was not an option. Can someone help me to figure this out?

Thanks
Aaron

Have you tried updating to Pro Tools 9.0.2?

Did you install (re-iinstall) the Music Production Toolkit when you installed PT9?

OK, so when I bought a mac, I installed PT9 without having a previous installation of PT8. I guess it all worked fine because I was able to get the ilok authorization license on a different computer that had PT8 on it already. Confused?? :) So until I needed to export by way of Mp3, I was having no issues with PT9 on my mac. But, since I was having an issue with the mp3 export and I also could not update the software to 9.0.2 update, I figured I needed to get things running right and to be able to use all the functions I paid for. So I did a clean uninstall of PT9, installed my old PT8, then reinstalled PT9. All went smooth. I then was able to update to 9.0.2. After the update, I also could export in mp3. So that was good.

Right now though, my mp3 bounces come out in left and right bounces instead of one bounce. I tried the interleave bounce but that just froze my mac and gave me the spinning pinwheel of death. But I think I can figure that out soon enough.

I am unable to bounce to MP3 as well.

I've been running PT9.2 for weeks and all of a sudden my ability to bounce to MP3 has ceased.

I recently updated my Music Production toolkit and I noticed on the download page it says to 'UNCHECK THE MP3 OPTION'. Well, I've tried it both ways and my system crashes ONLY when I attempt an MP3 bounce.

Something is wrong with the codec here. I'm not sure what to troubleshoot next? I paid for this feature long before it came included with PT9 so I'm certain my license for the MP3 option is legit in iLok land.

Thoughts?

Here's a mini error log snippet I receive after the track plays through in its entirety, then, right before bouncing calculates I get...

Just curious. why did you find the need to reinstall PT 8? Uninstall PT8 and install 9.0. A lot of people have been having trouble with 10.6.7. I stopped at 10.6.2 and 9.0 until they figure it all out.
