Which version of EuControl should I be running?

Hi There,
Just installed an Avid Artist Mix into my setup. I installed EuControl v 3.2.1. I'm running Pro Tools v. 10.3.8 on Mavericks 10.9.2. I know this isn't a supported configuration, but it's been very stable for almost a year.
It seems that every time I launch Pro Tools, it forgets the controller and I have to go to peripherals and enable. Also, within EuControl doesn't seem to see my device every time I launch the app. Is there a more stable version of EuControl to use?

Also, in a related topic, what is the best way to learn how to use this thing (beyond simple fader moves)? I've watched a few videos on youtube, but I end up just scratching my head trying to figure out how to automate/control sends/ plugs etc. Could anyone point me to a solid resource that could help get me up and running w/ this thing?

Hi Ken, regarding your related topic: It's essential to learn Pro Tools automation to get most out of your controller. You'll find a lot about this on You Tube. Search for Plug-In automation as well.
BTW: The Pro Tools Reference Guide is your friend too...
