Cursor doesnt return to insertion point
I know this is really a dumb question, but I can't figure this one out. Things worked ok until tonight, when I was doing some editing and punch-ins. When I used to stop some playing audio, the cursor returned back to the place I started from. Now, the cursor stops at the point where I stop the playback. This is really tough for the punch-ins, because the selection becomes unselected and the cursor is just placed wherever the audio stops.
Can anyone help me figure this one out? I have been using PT for years and have never had this problem. I am hoping it is just an option that I need to select and not a bug. By the way, I am using PT5.1 Mix Plus. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I have a long night of punch-ins and editing ahead of me! Re: Cursor doesnt return to insertion point
Hi, Sounds like you have the A-Z highlighted in the upper left of the edit window and you might have hit the letter "N" while cruising around on the keyboard at super hi speeds. It happens.
While the A-Z is still highlighted, hit “N” again and you should be back to normal. It is a shortcut to change the preference “timeline insertion follows playback” It is under operations in the preferences menu. Good luck, Brad |

Re: Cursor doesnt return to insertion point
In the Preference menu, into Operation; Timeline insertion follows playback should be unchecked. If checked, the cursor will stop and playback from where you pressed stop.
In Classic Mode, you press N to toggle that fonction on or off.

For that matter they should all be user configurable. |
