Default PT9 file downloads are all corrupted :(

Is anyone else experiencing this?

We've done multiple downloads of the Full and the Update PT9 for Win7. We get the following message when trying to decompress the files:

"An unexpected error is keeping you from copying the file. ......

Error 0x80004005: Unspecified error

data2
Type: Cabinet File
Date modified: 10/23/2010 6:40 PM
Size: 1.19 GB "

I've tried using 3rd party programs like WinRar and 7zip to no avail. We've also tried pulling the files down onto a WinXP Pro system with the same results during the zip file's decompression.

Anyone?

Sorry to hear your having problems.

I had a corrupt file error when trying to use the Windows Extraction tool that was solved when I used 7Zip.

Hi,

Have you emptied your cache on the browser? Deleted the previous downloads? Emptied the recycle bin?

Re download the zip file again to the desktop. Use WinRAR to extract the content. You should be able to open WinRAR and locate the ZIP file.

If so, drag and drop the 'Pro Tools 9' folder onto your desktop again.. enter the folder and hit the setup exe.

Let me know if that works.. the ZIP extracted for me 1st time. Also check if your broadband has any packet loss! If so.. the file may prematurely download!

Best,
Marc

Thanks sunburst79 & Marc5000...

I just got the Updater to download and unzip error-free - I finally had a breakthrough when I did a "manual" download instead of Digi's Download Mangler.

However, the Full Installer timed-out, so I'm about 45mins from seeing if this also works with the larger file (the one we, of course, really want to use!)

With the "good" download, 7zip and WinRAR both worked as well as the Win7 Extraction Tool. This seems to confirm that the downloads were compromised.

Anybody spoken with Digi about media for the download-challenged?

They are showing that backup disks will be available in the AVID Store around 11-11-2010.

Well, here's the latest on the Full Installer:

! C:\Users\Organic Flannel\Desktop\Pro Tools 9\Pro_Tools_90_Full_Installer_69566.zip: CRC failed in Pro Tools\Additional Files\Demo Session\The Legion\Audio Files\Amb_02.R.wav. The file is corrupt
! C:\Users\Organic Flannel\Desktop\Pro Tools 9\Pro_Tools_90_Full_Installer_69566.zip: CRC failed in Pro Tools\Additional Files\Demo Session\The Legion\Audio Files\BGV1_02.wav. The file is corrupt
! C:\Users\Organic Flannel\Desktop\Pro Tools 9\Pro_Tools_90_Full_Installer_69566.zip: CRC failed in Pro Tools\Pro Tools Installer\data2.cab. The file is corrupt

All the older files & caches were deleted and emptied, as well.
.............................

Has the Updater been kind to any other mpowered 8.0.4 Win7 users w/a 2626?

You sure you don't have a drive failing or a virus? CRC errors would light up the boards immediately. You seem to have a local problem.
Mike.
Edit: WinRAR has always been my buddy.

All the hardware is checking A-ok - I ran tests on hd's & even the RAM.

Plus, we've tried downloading on two completely independent & different systems (one xp pro, one Win7 Pro 64).
