I record/archive 1/2" masters to Pro Tools at 192kHz and use diskWelder to burn DVD-A's. I do this fairly frequently (the label sends me 30-60 reels at a time).

For all other work (tracking/overdubs) I use 44.1kHz/24 or 96kHz/24.

Sounds great, it's just not a practical format for most forms of recording multitrack music.

I recorded/produced this Jamie Palumbo Classical Guitar CD at 192

http://cdbaby.com/cd/palumbo

it was mastered by brad blackwood of euphonicmastering.com in memphis

the verbs and plugs i needed seemed to work fine for me in 192

this is almost a year ago now.

i tried 96K for important cds i produce

now i'm using 88.2 for the moment.

i would use 192 on a piano solo or guitar one inst proj again or something like guided meditation or one to 8 track recording but for my uses i prefer 88.2 or 44.1 f
