Default How to use the Mbox WITHOUT PTLE6.7???

I recently bought the Mbox, believing that I could use it as an external soundcard, since that is what the vendor told me. Now I am more than frustrated because of this: When I have installed the Mbox and trying to change the soundcard in the settings menu at sound settings - I can only change it so, that I use the Mbox to play, not to record. Why this? Is there any driver to help me fix the problem or was the vendor fooling me? Please help.

It can be done, but the Digidesign CoreAudio Driver is very dodgy about working right. The Mbox is also a very finicky piece of hardware, adding to the CAD's stupid flaws. I would sugest you contact Digi tech support and see what they can do for you.

Thankyou very much. I will do so. (Unfortunately the support for Europe had to have a holiday of some sort today...)

If anyone else have other ideas - please let me know.

The MBox is an ASIO compliant sound card.
Any application which supports ASIO will make your MBox fully functional.
Otherwise, yes, it can only be a playback device.

I don't think ASIO works under OS X. Also, you can use the core audio driver to record and playback.
