Are there any advantages to moving beyond Catalina for Pro Tools?

i would say that is a compelling reason to move on from Catalina (if that is a feature that would help your workflow).

Presumably not supported although I can't find an Avid documentation yet to explain the minimum requirement. You can certainly run 2022.12 on Catalina, but whether Aux I/O is fully functional and supported isn't clear from anything I can find.

Interesting, I had no idea Aux I/O wasn't supposed to be compatible with Catalina.

The 2022.12 Aux I/O feature, has fortunately been working fine on Catalina for me, & has squashed the bugs that came with the first iteration of it.
