Default JAM 2.5 does not work with Yamaha 6416

What a shame, I was so happy waiting for my Jam 2.5 from macmall and oops I forgot to check for compatibility, JAM does not support my yamaha 6416.
Does anyone knows if adaptec is coming out with something so it would be compatible?
And when? I checked their page and I found NOTHING.
Any1 want a cheap JAM? lol

Did you check out yamaha's website, I have the 8/4/24 and it also didn't work with Jam,..............I found the Jam 'driver' on the Yamaha site,........strange huh? I can't recall the URL cause I'm at work now and all my music stuff is at home, but it can't be hard to find. Check it out!

hey corbel - don't dump your jam yet! ( a little too graphic?). There are 2 patches available for the 6416 @ www.glyphtech.com -
1 for cd-rom toolkit and 1 for jam 2.5! Just
download it & put the patch in your jam folder. I just used it last night, jam recognized the 6416 w/ no problem and burned the cd. Now if I can only figure out how to set-up my ptle tracks so they all burn in stereo! Patience I guess!
Anyway I hope this helps.
peace

Has anyone else experienced problems with clicks and pops with the Yamaha 8424 and Jam ? If I use Jam to insert space between tracks, when I play the disc, I sometimes get a pop right as the track ends and the space begins--it sounds like the beginning of the next track gets played for a split-second...
But, the problem is not with the tracks, and if I play the problem areas from Jam, I don't hear the pops--they only show up on the burned CD.

Anyone else experienced this ? If I set the between-track time to 00:00, everything works fine--I only get pops when inserting space between tracks.

jnash,

use the fade in and out function in Jam. Since system 8, I have had some problems with this pop sound, with Jam and any CD burner or MLCD and any CD burner. Same hardware system 7.5.5 /7.5.6 works fine.

Regards

Editor,

Thanks for the advice--I'm glad to hear there's a workaround. Sounds like Jam needs a bug fix update... I've never had this problem with Toast.

corbel,

Are you sure you have installed the patch for Jam and the Yamaha 6416...

This file goes in your Jam folder...see below.
http://www.glyphtech.com/help/patche...W6416S.sit.Hqx

The firmware update is available here...see below
http://www.yamahayst.com/techsup/download2.htm

The patch belongs in the Jam folder, The firmware is used to update your Yamaha 6416 CD burners firmware. Read the "Read Me File" that comes with the firmware download, to use the updater and follow the directions carefully.

Regards
