PT7 Please clarify.
I've heard that the performance boost claims for pt7 are only realised if you are running a dual core, and in some cases you may experience a performance loss if you are not running a dual core.
Can anyone confirm or deny this? I finaly got my system (single processor HP laptop) back up and running, and am scared to dick around with it, but am itching for the upgrade. Thanks.

Re: PT7 Please clarify.
Hey.
It will depend on your system. I run 7.0 on a Dell Precision M70 Laptop (Single processor) I haven't experienced any improvement in terms of track count (32+30) But in general terms protools 7.0 is faster and has more capabilities. I was getting the same track count on 6.9. I seriously doubt you will see a performance loss unless you have compatilbility issues. Besides if you upgrade you get two free plugins that are usable on version 6.9 even if you do have a problem. Do yourself a favour! Cheers
