I do completely understand the need to differentiate LE from HD. That is a perfectly valid reason for some of the constraints (although I think the DV Toolkit is ridiculously overpriced). However, the ability to edit without the hardware is kind of a separate issue, since it pertains to both versions, and it is something that the competition has always had. Its really not a "feature" at all.

The only reason I'm so choked about this whole thing is because I think Pro Tools is excellent and I just get so frustrated with how Digi handles it sometimes.

I just hope that it comes with a usb extender cable - I plug my flash drives, iloks, and wireless internet reciever directly into my computers and lappies - but if I were to plug some headphones into that and be moving around, it'd be an accident waiting to happen.

News Flash: Sweetwater is taking orders for Mbox Micro for only $249.

As I mentioned before: Assuming you get the upgrade to 7.4, it really only costs $174 for the dongle since the upgrade costs $75.

Thats a very valid point about the pricing. If you are going to upgrade anyway then the cost of the micro is now under $200. BUT! if that is part of your reason for the purchase I would stress that you wait until 7.4 is released and then make the micro purchase to guarantee you get the 7.4 upgrade. Its just an opinion from a newbie but if the upgrade grace period is say 1 month and some weird problem occurs and the release of 7.4 is delayed... oh and is the upgrade price really $75? Is that price for versions under 7? I thought the upgrade from 7.3 to 7.4 was $50.

I belive to 7.3 to 7.4 upgrade price is only 50.00. the full stand alone 7.4 upgrade is the 75.00.

My Mini should arrive today. I would be bummed if 7.4 was released late but I'm sure it will ship when expected.

The mbox mini is nice man!! One of the guys in my band just got one too.

I hope that when I get the micro digi gives me the 7.4 upgrade for free. I'll be if they don't

The Mini is actually VERY hip (2nd I have bought).

The Micro should make a lot of people happy too.

I would like to see either a Micro-Mini or a Macro-Micro for sale at some point.

Or a notebook with 8 XLRS
