Default Can a G4/400 take full advantage of digi 001 features?

I've been running digi 001 on an 8600/300 and am about to take the leap to a new G4/400 machine. Will I be able to actually use 5 plug-ins per channel, 8 or more channels at a time, including lots of reverbs, or will I still run out of processor power? In other words, does Digi 001 actually deliver on its promises on a fast computer?

I don't know exactly how many more plug-ins you can possibly get by upgrading to a G4/400, but I have to say that's what I use and I find it satisfactory.

Reverbs and delays seem to chew up more CPU power than anything else. There are tricks you can do to minimize the number of them you really need though.

I have a G4 400, you'll be VERY happy. The one advice I can give though, is get an ultra wide SCSI drive. the faster RPM the better. I'm a fan of glyph: www.glyphtech.com
I use one of their 10,000RPM drives, the audio is crystal clear.

Sadie,

Check out http://www.digidesign.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/001021.html

Concious,

I would love to see your results with the 10,000 RPM SCSI drive. A few users have said that they feel that they get better performance than with an ATA/66 drive, but no one has posted a comparison showing improved performance.

Good luck,

Jeff D.
