Default Issue Installing ProTools 7.3 LE

Hello. I am trying to install Protools 7.3 on a Windows XP system. It appears to install successfully, but when I click on the icon, I get the following error:

ProToolsLE.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point _dsiSetThreadPriority@12 could not be located in the dynamic link library DSI.dll

I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, but I get the same error. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Rob

That's usually an indication that you have two different versions of the software installed. This commonly happens when different versions of the ASIO and Wavedriver than the installed Pro Tools version are present, but can also be caused by other things.

Here is what I recommend:
  • Use the PT Uninstaller Utility
  • Restart the machine
  • Re-install the software.[/i]
  • Restart the machine after installation succeeds.

What exactly does Pro Tools Nuke do? Does it delete any sessions that have been saved? I hope it simply deletes the application only.

Unhappy Re: Issue Installing ProTools 7.3 LE

I too just installed Pro Tools LE 7 on my Windows XP desktop computer and am getting this message right away when I try to open Protools:

The procedure entry point _DsiSetThreadPriority@12 could not be located in the dynamic link library DSI.dll

I downloaded and used the PTNuke program as advised above and made sure there were no other Digidesign programs still installed on my computer, reinstalled Protools from CD and still, the error message comes up.

Are there any other ways around this?
Thankyou!
-Sam

Hi I'm also getting a similar error and it's driving me insane!

I have an older version protools LE 6.8.1 using MBOX2. I've had it working on my system about a year ago before my computer crashed and I lost everything. I have been looking through these posts for about 4 hours and have tried everything but nothing seems to work. I keep getting The procedure entry point_DsiSetThreadPriority@8 could not be located in the dynamic link library DSI.dll. when I try to launch PT.

I have used PTNuke to uninstall as well as searched for dalwdm.sys and digidesign anything and deleted everything then reinstalled and it still happens. It says the application has installed but it won't open.

I've tried updating the PACE and interlock drivers and I'm only installing what comes up on the install and no other plug-ins etc.

I am running on XP with service pack 2. I've even tried formatting the computer!!

If anyone can offer any help or suggestions I would be most grateful!!

Hey all - I am getting a different but related error message:
The procedure entry point?PSAssertAbort_Begin@@YAXPBDOK@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library DigiPlatformSupport.dll
Has anyone seen this previously? It is likewise driving me crazy - I am running PT 7.4 M-Powered with a MobilePre, Dell Latitude 620 Laptop, Intel 945 Core Duo Chipset. I have also run PT Uninstaller and interestingly enough, the problem cropped up after that. From then on, all reinstallations have failed - Please help, I have tracks due!!!
