Thumbs down What was I thinking?

I made a huge mistake.... I tried to do a project entirely in Logic. Now I can't play back or bounce without getting some kind of random pops or clicks. What a crappy program. Last time I ever rely on it for something with a deadline.

Welcome to the club. I did almost the same twice in the past. Never ever again!

Twice I've made a serious run at Cubase for a couple of large midi-based projects. Twice I've came away very unhappy and back to Pro Tools with my tail between my legs. Once was a "what was I thinking" moment. I dunno what you call twice except maybe stoopid.

Wow, this Post is scaring me. I must have a major issue with Pro Tools every week. I start a song and before IM done I have some issue that never gets fixed. I usually find a work around but really in 3 months I have not finished even one song the way I wanted to because I just gave up and Bounced it too Two Track. My buddy that uses Cubase says he never has problem? but now IM starting wonder if he is really using it. Most of my songs have like 42 Tracks and tons of Plug-Ins. But after reading this IM thinking maybe I have it good with Pro Tools?

Little things like this are why I'm sticking with my PT7.4cs10 system. Currently it is working solid, if I do any experimenting with another DAW I do it on my number 2 computer. I've also decided that if I do finally do a jump to PT8 that I'm just going to build a new computer from scratch.

I treat my equipment a lot like I do my cars, if it works and I know it's quirks it's all good. I know it will get me where I need to go!!

That's why I got a '98 Lumina, dents and all!!!

Key makes the best point - every DAW has its weaknesses and strengths. As hard as it is to find the time, I think being proficient at multiple DAWs is in all our futures. But some are just better at frustrating you than others, depending on what you are trying to accomplish.

Another thing to consider.....I think that once you learn your first DAW(be it Pro Tools, Cubase, Logic or whatever) learning a new program is a lot harder. I started on Pro Tools, and while I know Cubase works fine, I just can't get my head around it

Hmmmm. Pro Tools and a '98 Lumina. Just the lyric Idea I need for that unwritten bridge.
