Heck, I've been using a pair of those stock RCA cables that you get when you buy a CD or DVD player without any problems....

So what's the difference between Professional Potting Soil and the amatuer stuff ? Besides, you want the fashionable ones don't you.

Re: please explain... digital cables (s/pdif)
well, i actually did think that someone would tell me that there is some kind of advantage.
something like less gitter or something else that isn't measueable then there would be a big debate that no one would be able to prove.

Re: please explain... digital cables (s/pdif)
The answer is simple.
Non-professional cables will work absolutely fine if the length is limited. But if the distance between two equipment is far enough, say 10-20 metres, you will need a bloody professional cable. Do not compromise on the cost then. A longer cable with poor quality cores will definitely add jitters or stop recognising the digital device intermittently. But as long as your length does not exceed 2-3 metres, you can save your bucks. |

Re: please explain... digital cables (s/pdif)
Some expensive cables (Planet Waves/Proel) have a lifetime warranty. They also have far superior connectors to HOSA, which represents the other end of the scale.
