Error Launching Video Engine

I've just installed Pro Tools Studio 2023.6.0 in a Mac Mini (M1, 2020) with macOS Monterey 12.0.1.

When I try to enable the Video Engine I get the message "Error launching Video Engine".

Does anyone knows how to solve this issue?

I am having the same issue, but with 2023.9, and I am on Windows 10. Were you able to get the Video Engine working again? How did you manage to do it?

*Edit: So I think I solved the issue for my situation. I simply Uninstalled Pro Tools, and then installed 2023.9 again. After restarting my computer, Pro Tools - and the Video Engine - seem to work again.

I've been having lots of video engine issues. Randomly crashes with a video engine error and nothing brings it back online outside of shutting down Pro Tools and restarting it. I'm on an M! studio on the latest PT on the latest Monterey.

If any of you are on a MAC SILICON chip, are you launching in Rosetta mode? You should.

Incorrect. You don't need to launch Pro Tools in Rosetta mode for the Video Engine to work. You do, however, need to have Rosetta installed on the machine. So, if you don't currently have it installed, install it by running Pro Tools in Rosetta mode just once if you haven't already. The Mac will prompt you to download and install Rosetta.
From this point forward, you can run Pro Tools Natively and the video engine with run behind the scenes under Rosetta. Nothing else you need to do.

Interesting to know. The same can’t be said for non-Silicon plugins…launch in Native mode and the plugins aren’t in the list. I thought I had read that for video engine to work, Pro Tools had to launch in Rosetta. I stand corrected.
