Default Waves version 8 and 9 advice

At the mo I'm running V8 due to the bug in version 9 when using triple monitors. I'm thinking of purchasing the API bundle but I want version 8 not 9 until they sort this bug out!!! What's the best way to go about this. Waves have said buy V9 then pay to downgrade to 8 then in my free year of WUP upgrade back to 9

What would you guys recommend is the best way to do this

What? You pay more than the cost of the newest version to downgrade to an older version? I agree with Craig.

You get a greyed out plug. These is a thread on here about it and waves are aware of it. What graphics cards are you running

A mix of 5770 and 630 cards. So far no greyed out plugins.
All running Lion still though.

Just heard back from Matt at Waves and he has told me his collegue got it wrong. You buy V9, ring tech support they downgrade you. You then click the upgrade box in your waves account and it upgrades you back to V9 with out extra cost and losing your V8 ilok auths. This is very good news
