New HD exchange info please Digidesign

I have a full blown AKAI DR8 Hard Disk recorder with internal and external Hard Disks, Video card for on-screen editing like the MAckie HDR, Version 2.42 upgrade etc etc(Maybe more than $6000 few years ago for the lot) sitting in the corner at the studio and I don't know what to do with it. Now this upgrade gave me an idea. But I don't see the DR8 on the list. Only the older models(DD8 etc). Is Digidesign going to exchange it? What would be the price?

I suspect you misunderstand something: as far as I know, Digidesign's 'upgrade' prices are all based on trading in previous versions of Digidesign equipment. Not Akai's, or anyone else's.
