Default Re: Expansing Pro Tools Shortcut for future release (mix/edit view, toggle options)

Thanks for your reaction.

I learned that once you transfer the .plist file to another Mac you can no longer view the shortcuts you added on the source Mac in the System Preferences/Keyboard/Shortcuts prefs pane on the destination Mac. They still work but do not show up there.
I wasn't thinking to directly transfer the plist file*, but to copy some lines from one .plist file to the existing .plist file (created by Pro Tools on that mac).
* (to prevent any bad issue between systems, even if those plist don't contain lots of things)

- On Maverick (0SX.9.5) and Yosemite (OSX.10.4), after editing the .plist file, we must restart the computer, otherwise Shortcuts Prefs Pane does NOT refresh.
- On Mountain Lion (OSX.8.5), it works directly (=No need to restart the computer), but we need to close both Pro Tools and Prefs Pane, edit the .plist file, save and reload the Prefs Pane and then Pro Tools.
- EDIT : updated after a quick test with Yosemite and Pro Tools 11.3.1.

You then have to edit the actual .plist file with Xcode or the like in order to add new shortcuts or change existing ones.
I am using TextWrangler 4.5, which is free (as far as I remind). I suppose not everybody wants to install Xcode just to edit a plist file.

1st post edited to reflect PT12 (incl. PT12.4) modifications and additions.

I will try to post a method to exchange OSX shortcut all in a row, as soon as possible (even though this topic doesn't seem to interest a lot of people).
