Idea about iPad and Pro Tools.....
Ok so I was wondering if we could take the new iPad and have it mirror our Mix window, and then use it as a controller surface for writing fader automation....
Is this in the works maybe? Just my thoughts. |

Re: Idea about iPad and Pro Tools.....
I'd be more interested in being able to edit on an Ipad. But it won't happen.

Honestly though, I'm excited to use Pro Remote on it, because the large screen real estate would make using it as a portable/remote control surface far more viable.

Re: Idea about iPad and Pro Tools.....
Not to sound like a total lamen on these things but has N E 1 tried using remote desktop to edit from a more comfortable position? I've never invested in a copy but the online demos show it working a a good speed.
I mean we have 540Mb wifi and provided that its just your workstation and your remote machine on the network I would imagine it feasible???? |

Re: Idea about iPad and Pro Tools.....
I think an Ipad would be a great tool if you could use it in such a way that the musician can easily, and comfortably look at the screen that the engineer is working on.....anywhere in the studio. Can one add the Ipad as a secondary monitor? Theoretically, that seems impossible. What about set it up to mirror the main monitor? (I think that was already mentioned) How could the communication from a G5 to an iPad be achieved without the the use of DVI cables? The only way a mac detects a monitor is physical output from the video card right?
