Default Change in Audiosuite behaviour... Can I revert?

Hey all,

I've been using a handy hack for a while, to batch process hundreds of audio files at the same time.

Basically, if I'm chopping samples up, I usually end up with several hundred files which exist on a track, and each has a fade at the beginning and end.

The hack I've been using is to use the gain Audiosuite plugin (with no gain added), and selecting the all the regions on the track, and hitting 'render', with teh 'clip by clip' option set in the Gain plugin.

This then consolidates all the fades into the files ready for export.

But now fade files are real time, I've lost that workflow.... I can't seem to figure out a way to consolidate hundreds of fade files as a batch... I can only do them one at a time (shift>option>3)

Am I being thick..!? Is there another way to do this that I'm missing?

Thanks so much in advance!!

For others who may search for the same issue, please post the solution. Page 963 may have different content for different versions of Pro Tools.

I have a guess as to the misunderstanding, but the best is to find Chapter 43 in the manual (any manual) called "AudioSuite Processing"
And there's a chart under "Using AudioSuite Plugin-Ins" called

"Conditions for AudioSuite Rendering with Handles, Fades, Clip Gain, and Metadata"

That's a whole table that explains what happens with every choice (including what happens with fades)

Page numbers will change between reference manuals but that sub-heading will always be there.
