That was my feeling when I read your headline, though it's possible that Focusrite's resources will improve Sonnox. It's honestly a company I've forgotten about, so I suppose some better marketing wouldn't hurt.

It makes me very nervous seeing this. I rely on their plugins everyday. I really hope they continue to support and maintain all of the legacy plugins and continue to operate as they have going forward.

Maybe, it could be a good thing, they might be able to release new plugins more often. I would think that Focusrite would be a better parent company than something like Soundwide. We shall see, fingers crossed.

Sonnox makes really amazing plugs. I don’t like anyth8ng good being sold, but let’s hope for the best.

Interesting news. Browsing the Focusrite PLC site they own the following:

Focusrite, Focusrite Pro, Martin Audio, Optimal Audio, ADAM Audio, Sequential, Linea Research, Oberheim, Novation, Ampify Music and Sonnox

The respective companies seem like they've been able to keep going as usual. Focusrite is still based in the UK so hopefully that means they'll keep the Sonnox team.

They replied to my very similar thread on Gearspace.
Yes it is same team, same everything- they are about 3 miles from me in Oxfordshire.
Good people.

Focusrite have always been a good company when I have contacted them. Sonnox plugins, particularly eq and dynamics, are brilliant. So I hope everything continues as before.

I bought Inflator just this past year and support at Sonnox provided me with a separate iLok asset for the TDM version to use on my old HD4 rig. That’s good service and I hope it continues.

Sigh... I have a dream that Focusrite would throw one of their programmers a few bucks and update the Liquid Mix plugin. Hahaha. The thing was cool and I kept it going up through Mojave by using 32 Lives, but now I'm on a Mac Studio with Monterrey and it's finally a lost cause and not even sure it's worth trying to dump on CL or Reverb, eBay, etc.

I'm a long time Focusrite user, as I use the Scarlett 8i6 as my interface (and just got the 18.8 3rd gen). As a user, I have access to Focusrite's Plug-in collective, which has had some good freebies over the past couple years. I'm wondering if one or two of the Sonnox plugs might be made available that way for Focusrite users. Its possible!
