Re: Is there a reason to use sd2 over wav or aif?

Several questions here: Can you post the graphical result of your 192k wrapper test? Or maybe give us a downloadable link to an audio example of the differences? Was the test done completely blind? Did anyone from HersheyDesign influence the results? What monitors were used in this test? Were the participants in this test completely cleared by the FBI and properly placed under oath? Was monster cable used? Did you use an outboard console or the internal 2mix buss in the test? I, quite frankly, cannot acknowledge the validity of any such test that does not provide answers to these and many other questions. In the future you might consider not even posting an opinion unless you can provide ALL this information. |

Re: Is there a reason to use sd2 over wav or aif?
I think your confusing Snickers® with Holiday Rice Krispies Treats® which do have multi colored wrappers. In fact the wrappers may have as many as 10 different colors printed on a foil backing via a flexographic proccess. They use a form of rotogravure to create the rubber cylinders which as the roll of material is feed across the stock, print an image in a screened progression at varying angles (with black generally the last to print over the rest - white is used as a flood so that other more opaque colors wont be dulled). Look closely at the edged where colors meet, in this type of printing the "trap" is quite disticntly represented as a dark edge where the two inks overlap to avoid gaps. Or maybe it is the Snickers?
Thens theres offset lithography...

Not only does it open faster at 192k, but it sounds better when you tear the wrapper. Tastes great, less filling.

and by far the best is that up to a certain degree you can always change that "colors" around.
see my little tool to convert SD2, wav, aiff or even just divide or interleave stereo-tracks: http://www.leipzig.primacom.net/gues...t/digiconv.htm (sorry, its just a windows-application) |
