i bounce about 50 segments a day, narration, music, etc,
i have a strart and end for every clip, bounce,
it's way easier to click. start and end of a segment in memory locations,
rather than on timeline, as timeline, i may miss a track, and cut off part of my bounce

you have to understand, everyone uses pro tools for different purposes,
some for music, 1 or 2 songs
others for clips, narrations, etc, jingles,

so it doesnt get easier to have. start , end markers, on memory locations
then just click end marker, then hold shift, start of marker, and you auto select the entire region to bounce
MUCH easier. than chossing beginning, then going to end of that section to find the end, etc,

my timeline does not just have 1 song, 1 segment, it has over 50 of them,,,

so yes, it is important to click, shift click to select regions, to bounce

Use the numpad with shift to select between markers. .3., hold down shift, .4. Selection made.

also, we are reporting a bug, it used to work, it is a function in pro tools, maybe not for you, but for many, a much needed function,
and now, with 2023.12, it does not seem to work, and needs to get fixed, that's all,
it's there to use, if you choose to use it, use it, if not, ignore it,
just like many other functions in pro tools

I wasn’t talking about mouse clicking at all. I was referring to using the number pad to recall the first memory location, hold down SHIFT then recall the second memory location. This makes a selection between the two memory locations. Try it.

it does not work in 2023.12 for me, using. SONOMA,
it used to work, in Monterey 2022.12
that is what i am saying,
and asking those with Ventura with 2023.12, to try it,
maybe it's a Sonoma thing, and thta's ok, because. Sonoma is not supported,
but if it's a Ventura thing too, then it needs to get fixed,

I think I'm going to go back to this and thanks for reminding me. You mean something like an empty midi track the right length for the bounce, or is there a better way?

It’s a type Memory location for selection, not location. It’s an option when making the memory location.

nobody is forcing anyone to use any function or shortcut in protools,
we are simply talking about a function that has been with pro tools for years,
probably over a decade, who knows,

if you have no need for it,
then of course , don't use it,

that's what i do with all other PT functions, i don't need,

we are not asking to add anything,
just fix what seems to be "broken"

You're either dealing with a Sonoma issue or you're clicking in the wrong place in the Memory Locations window. See the video.

Believe me, I'm on your side and would click the box to get original markers box back immediately. I just recognise that these things take time, even if you are heard. The earliest would be March.
