I quickly checked to see if anyone else had posted the announcement and when I didn't see it, I wanted to be first to blow the whistle. I'm hoping it works well. I wonder if it fixes the AIR plugins 'yellow' issue or if that is a separate update on the plugins themselves.
I got an email from the AIR User Blog this morning, announcing updates to various plugins specifically for 10.6. So it would seem they released separate plugin updates as well. Could also be a reason why everything took as much time as it did.

I've heard reports that people say that they can't run the Leopard installer on these new machines. I think it was stated the most people that bought the retail Leopard install disks got Leopard 10.5.6 which would not work on the new Macs. People that got the 10.5.8 install disk were fine. I don't have first hand experience with this so I'm just repeating what I've read here on the DUC. I think manyvendor no longer have Leopard disks available so some new Mac buyers feel as though they are stuck with Snow Leopard on their new Macs. Therefore they have been waiting anxiously for a version or Protools to use with their Snow Leopard Macs.

Now maybe Digi can throw us Windows 7 users a bone and give us 64 bit support.

Installed from a flat 10.5. disc. Updated to 10.5.8. I think, as with PT, there's a lot of pilot error going on...

Good to know. Any new iMac or new Macbook Pro users having problems loading Leopard on their Snow Leopard machines. Well now that this update is out, I guess that is a moot point (unless the update is buggy).

The announcement said:
"Pro Tools 8.0.3 is a free update for all Pro Tools 8 owners. Version 8.0.3 supports the following operating systems:
Mac OS X 10.6.1 – 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard)
Mac OS X 10.5.5 – 10.5.8 (Leopard)"

So the 8.0.3 update will work with OS X 10.5.5 – 10.5.8 (Leopard).
