If I understand you correctly, you want to process a guitar through your PT system. Sure it will work. Make a session with a mono track and a stereo master fader. Put the guitar plug-ins on the mono track. You could add stereo reverb to the master track. Send the output through the mini stereo output and get an adapter cable to whatever you need.

If it is an option on the other computer or interface (more details there would have helped) consider connecting your Mac to it via the toslink output.

Thanks. Never even heard of toslink, but I just looked it up, and I see what it is.
Interesting. The computer at the other studio is a Windows PC, running Abelton Live. The studio is run by a drummer, and drummers seem to like Abelton. I'll ask him what kind of interface he uses, and if his rig can accept toslink.
