GRADUAL TEMPO CHANGES - CAN IT BE DONE
HOWDY.
I am using Pro Tools LE 6.1 - Mac OSX. Forgive my ignorance - but is it possible to create a tempo change that speeds up (or slows down) gradually? ie: currently if if have a song with a tempo of say 120 for the first 4 bars, but at the beggining of the 5th bar want it to change to 150 - can this change happen gradually from the first beat of the first bar to the first beat of the 5th bar. Hope that makes sense - greeting from australia |

Re: GRADUAL TEMPO CHANGES - CAN IT BE DONE
No, not in ProTools, at least not easily. It will not compute gradual tempo shifts as you describe; you can do this easily in Performer and Logic (and in a PC-based program called Auricle) but not in ProTools. We've been asking for this simple function for years. If you have Performer, you can do your tempo mapping there and export it as a standard midi file. ProTools can then open that, and then you'd have your gradual tempo shift. A needless extra step, but there you go.
