Angry Re: PT8HD cpu problem........proof with pics!

I just upgraded my PT rig to HD8 from LE7.1. I have a completely new OS and PTHD install on another drive, have followed all of the recommended tweaks etc. and PTHD8 is using 75-99% CPU in the task manager even with the smallest sessions I used to run with no problems on my LE system. Digitest passed. Can I downgrade and get a free copy and license of a stable version of 7.x HD from Digidesign so that I keep working?

1.No it did not.

2.Before cs3 they acknowledged the problem and said it would be fixed. After cs3 nothing!

3.Major problem with PT8!

Meat - that is not true! In fact, we specifically stated that this could not be fixed in a cs release.

The problem is currently going through testing and we're working as quickly as possible to address a majority of issues currently being discussed on the DUC.

The problem is with how graphic elements are drawn on-screen (called 'blitting'). The more elements on-screen, the more CPU usage can be used - essentially what's happening is it's trying to redraw certain elements much more often than necessary.

A fix is in place and is looking solid with initial testing. We're working on getting this out as quickly as possible.

Can you give us a description of what engineering thinks is the problem with the Play/pause issue? Thanks.
