Punch in macro doesn't work

Hey all. Sorry if this has been asked before.

I recently loaded Pro Tools 8 LE on my Mac Pro, and everything seems to be working fine with one exception.

Pro tools doesn't seem to recognize the punch-in keyboard shortcut. Any of them, really, but I use command-space. I've disabled the Dashboard shortcuts in System Preferences as described in the Setup Guide, to no avail.

Does anyone know a workaround or solution? Thanks in advance.

System - Mac Pro, 10.5.8, PT 8 LE, Mbox 2.

Are you in quick punch mode? (right click record button or 6 on numpad)

I prefer 3 on number pad to start record.

I'm sorry I'm not sure what quick punch mode is. I've used 8 LE on my laptop and Command-Space punched-in record while playing.

All the additional options to punch, 3 or F12, do not work either.

You will want to use Quick Punch mode.
