Default A clever way to switch between...

I have avid artist mixers, and pt 10.

I have a need to switch between my mix output and a track going directly to the output of my system - basically, I want toa/b.

On my pro control I would assign the monitoring so I could use a hard switch to do this, but am at a loss on how to do it on the artist. Ideally, I would throw a hard switch, or at lease a keystroke. Right now, I mute the track that contains a and listen to the whole mix (b). Then to listen to a, I solo that track and unquote it.

What are you using for a monitoring system?? Artist control or something else??? Ideally done at this level.

I can use artist control if u can tell me how lol. Right now I simply use my m box volume control with the output of the console going there.

Had to look it up, I thought the control had monitoring options. It doesn't. They are useless for your needs. You need a monitoring solution that can handle multiple inputs for the best case and simplest scenario such as a central station.

I can think of scenarios to get it to work, but would be workarounds and obnoxious change of workflow. Just easier to get the correct monitoring setup.

If you're looking for a decent cost effective solution:

I like the Presonus Monitor Station:
3 inputs (2 sets of TRS, one RCA with a trim pot on it)
A Main out selectable between 3 different source inputs
2nd Cue output for headphones/studio etc with 3 different source inputs
3 sets of speaker outputs with level control
4 different LOUD (if you want it) headphone amps switchable between main mix & cue
A built-in talkback mic & non latching button
An XLR External Mic input
A phono/turntable input with a level control
A dim control with a pot
A mute button
A mono buttom
A large volume pot
A 8 segment stereo meter
TRS Jacks on everything (except the Aux in & the Phono=RCA)

Love mine. Very cool for the money.

Could never go back to using the built in monitor section on my Pro Control!

I currently see $239 refurbs on ebay

+1. Mine is racked directly in front of me, since I'm constantly switching inputs, speaker outs, checking in mono, or just adjusting playback volume. Plus the talkback is cool and the DA is good:
