Default Why does v6 "freeze"?

I don't understand it. Can someone explain this to me.

I'm recording an audio track, and suddenly, everything stops. The mouse no longer works, and I have to reboot.

Digi...HELP!!!

Thanks

My dual 1.25 G4 just did the same thing. Is it maybe this Waves problem I keep hearing about? I just got the NPP V.4 and this was my first session with it. No problems before. Thanks.

Trahern,

I don't have Waves 4 installed. I took it out when I was having problems with "white noise". I even told Waves about it, and they didn't know anything was wrong with V4 for PT 6 LE. Go figure!

How many times has this happened to you? I'm pretty new to PT. Only been using about a month but it's never just randomly froze. Also, someone needs to give some concrete answer to whose problem this Waves issue is. PT says it's Waves, Waves says there's no problem. Obviously there's a problem or there wouldn't be so many posts on the issue.

The "freeze" thing happens. It doesn't happen every day, but it happens.

The "disappearing" program is a whole other game.

Would you mind trying this when you have a moment?

Open up a new session. Add a New Midi Track. Open the "Midi Event List" window. Under the Midi window, select Change Velocity, change the value in Subtract or Add, then press Apply. Does your program "QUIT".

I'd appreciate it.
Thanks

The only time PT 6 has frozen for me has been in destructive record and I start recording at the end of a file to make it one continuous file. That could be the result of using a partitioned firewire drive for the system drive and audio drive. I'll move PT back to my interal drive when there's support for 10.2.4.

when it froze, did you have any other application talking to CoreAudio? I noticed that if I had iTunes playing and I launched PT6, the machine would freeze hard. I believe it is a tug-o-war between apps trying to control CoreAudio.
