problem with dual G4s?

I don’t want to rehash all my other problems with unexpectedly quits, freezes etc.-it's my strong feeling that there are problems with the duals-- -I have very few problems on my powerbook (800mhz/512ram)--but I cant get my new (just past the 10 day return point) dual to work with pt6.0 or 6.0.1-so I’m kind of stuck with it- just wondered if anyone else has any thoughts on this.

If you would of done a search prior to your purchase you would of seen tons of posts regarding the nightmares of the G4 dual processors. Sorry brotha stay strong...

We have had zero problems with our dual 1Ghz QS. Fast and furious, high track counts, no crashes (in over two months), a joy to work on.

I've been running since day one on a G4 dual 450...no probs, even with dual boot disks (OS9/X) and both PT5.1 and PT6.0

There have been issues with certain other dual proc models though...I seem to remember there being numerous post regarding the "mirror" G4's....you should search the DUC, you will probably find some useful info.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Yup, the 32 track beta 5.2.1 version, but used the 24 track 5.1.1 as well. haven't had time to do DAVEC tests on this machine yet, but I suspect it will yield very high marks.

FWIW, G-4 dual 1Ghz w/Superdrive, 1.5gb RAM, 80gb system (partitioned 5gb each for OS9.2.2 and OSX and 70gb for back-up) and 2-40gb internal drives(all IBM Deskstars).
2xFirewire drive docks with multiple Maxtor DiamondMax 30gb and WD Caviar 120gb drives.

We could not ask for a better machine, it's never failed to do what we want to do.

Do you have the apple pci extension? This cures multiprocessor instability. Get in the downloads section. I've got a DP533 and it runs great! Dual is bonus with PT6.0... if only digi would fix midi in PT6.0 I would switch exclusively to OSX.
