I'm opened a very small and lite session, still tracking only. My missing AAX Plug-Ins are:
EZbass
FabFilter Pro-DS
FabFilter ProQ3
FabFilter Saturn 2
Superior Drummer 3
VahallaVintageVerb

Now I'm going to to go hunting for Apple Silicon versions.

Thank u very much, guys!

A pretty cool update indeed.

Native version runs flawlessly on Mac mini 2020 M1/macOS Monterey 12.6.2 so far as well. Loving it!

Many plugins are still missing but the whole bunch of Universal Audio plugins, Waves v14, IK Multimedia (which was an unexpected, nice surprise), Baby Audio, Softube and some others are there and working as it is supposed to.

Surprisingly the whole range of Plugin Alliance plugins/VIs, SSL Native inclusive 360 software, Izotope, Soundtoys (this was clear as they officially still have not released any native AAX versions), Native Instruments and many others are still not ready as for AAX native obviously. Probably, hopefully, most of them will come up with native versions over the next few months though.

Again, a great update imo. Thanks.

Cheers,

VRW

Has anyone noticed a huge CPU difference? I'm going to create a test session to see if there is a difference as it should be a 30% or more difference.

I'm hoping, Marc

Found a couple of issues running native:

• The biggie is that Console 1 even though Pluginfo shows it to be native AAX, I get an error upon loading a project with an instance of it: "The following plug-ins were made inactive because of insufficient systems resources: Console 1 (1)"

• Somehow my Komplete Kontrol S61 Mk2 became unassigned as a MIDI Controller and the mixing function/integration no longer worked. This was in Rosetta or native. Easy fix... just reassigned it in Setup/Peripherals.

So far looking forward to it. Just installed updated Waves support. Glad to see this finally happen!

Soundtoys works here!
But Softube shows up in the list but doesn't work.

Well, it works . . . but nearly all my plugins disappear of course in native mode. (SSL, PA, Soundtoys, Eventide, Fabfilter, etc etc are gone). UA all work fine in both modes. Maybe I need to search for more 3rd-party updates.
A true CPU-load comparison test is impossible right now.
Quitting and relaunching Pro Tools in Rosetta mode causes every menu to slow to a crawl. A reboot of the computer after each switch solves it.
The converse also happens.
Well, I suppose it's a start. But I think we're a long, long way off from any real workable situation. I suspect another year at least before all the 3rd-party plugin companies have usable versions (if ever for some), and Pro Tools is truly out of beta.
I would rather Avid had given us a completely separate native app than this 4.73GB combo-bloat of an application.

I'm not interesting in being a beta tester, per se, as I'm working and need PT to work, but I'm curious about these new version. If I want bug fixes in the NON-beta version do I have to download the whole thing and just not set it to beta mode or something along those lines? Does seem kind of bloated.

UPDATE
Well, I loaded all the updates that say they're native for Apple Silicon but 2022.12 doesn't believe it. After installing all the updates and restarting PT still doesn't show FabFilter (for example) as an available plug-in.
