HDX Driver No Longer Shows after 2021.10 Install

nope tried with 2021.12 and I still can`t see the HD native hardware

I tried everytjing in this thread including disabling SIP and nothing worked for me.. what is strange is that I always get the message to allow the driver to install in the system extensions but then when I go to privacy -> accessability there is nothing in the list.. and I don`t get the chance to check or uncheck anything when opening the "security & privacy"

as far as I understood it I should get asked to check something there and allow the driver to get accessability to the system right?

I have a HD Native system that loses clock connection between the MRTX Studio and the HD Native card when the system goes to sleep. This behavior started from 2021.3 driver/firmware onwards.

The solution AVID Support gave me was to roll back to the 2020.12 HD Driver, which I have been doing with every subsequent Pro Tools version that updates the HD driver. I'm amazed that the old driver still works with newer PT versions.

AVID engineers CAN code a driver that is compatible with sleep, because the 2020.12 HD Driver works after waking from deep sleep. I wonder why they don't look at their old code and copy it to the new driver?

I haven't yet updated to 2021.12, and am wondering if anyone has tried this version with the 2020.12 driver?

Please educate me with a reference from avid.com because I have not heard of sleep/hibernation function being supported. You caught my interest here

Hi JFreak, I don't have a reference from avid.com. I do have a system that requires sleep to be functional. When 2021.3 broke sleep on my system AVID support helped me restore it by suggesting rolling back the driver. I can now deep sleep my system (where power to many parts of the system are cut) and upon wake full functionality is restored. I can copy/paste the transcript of our discussion if you are interested. I was somewhat surprised that they were happy with rolling back the driver as a permanent solution... they didn't seem interested in digging deeper or reporting anything to engineering. They closed the case when I reported that it was working again.

What is surprising to me is that AVID is satisfied with a system that cannot sleep, because they could fix this if they wanted to. This goes against the current "minimize the carbon footprint" narrative.

I wasn't the only one who experienced this bug... I posted the solution on several threads in the DUC and it helped others get back up and running. I will go ahead in the next few days and install 2021.12 and report here if rolling back to the same old driver still works.

Indeed I would be interested. First time I ever heard Avid supports sleep/hibernate. You can PM me if you don't want to post it for everyone.
