PT8 - no sound
I have just reinstalled PT8 and have no sound. When I look at sound preferences i see only line out, digital out and internal speakers. No option for PT or Digidesign.

You shouldn't need the sound preferences for working with PT. Just connect your Digidesign audio interface to some speakers or headphone.

Is Pro Tools currently launched? If so, that's why you wouldn't see it available in the Sound control panel - only one application can use the hardware at a time.
If you're not running Pro Tools, try launching the Core Audio Manager and see if it shows 'Connected'. If not, please let me know what drivers you see in the folder located at: MacHD>Library>Audio>Plug-Ins>HAL.

I don't see 'Digi HW 003' in the sound preferences whether PT8 is running or not.
In Library/Audio/Plug-ins/HAL is see 'Digidesign CoreAudio.plugin' When PT8 is running and I open Core audio manager I get message: Not Connected (HW in use). But what hell is it in use for since I have nothing else running. Thanks

Sorry, opened Core Audio Audio manager and it says 'not connected (HW not found)
