How can I run 16 tracks input/output on 002 at 96K

Is there any way to run 16 tracks input/output at 96K on the 002?

I have a RME a/d converter. It has two optical inputs and two optical outputs, both of which are rquired to send/receive 8 tracks at 96K.

However, the 002 only has 1 optical in and 1 optical out (which only allows you to run 8 tacks at 48K or 2 tracks at 96K).

RME makes a card (Hammerfall Light) that has the two optical ports. Does anyone know if this card will work? Is there any other card that will work? Or am I stuck with having to purchase a HD system.

I don't think it can be done.. the 002 is limited to what you described for I/O (except I think it is 4 channels via ADAT at 96k, maybe?) and PTLE will not accept any other I/O. You could also get 2 more channels in via the SPDIF for 14 total at 96k.. If I am wrong others will know...

You are stuck with HD........the 002 can only do 10 channels at 96k. 8 regular inputs plus 2 S/PD
IF (Coaxial or Optical)..it does not support the optical format for 4 channles @ 96k. It can only do ADAT 8 channels @ 48k.

The two SPDIF inputs work at 96K right? For some reason, I can't seem to get Pro Tools to select SPDIF as an input when the session is at 96K.
