Re: alesis DM5 opinions
DM5? Dunno.
DMPro. Yes. I find it to be significantly better than my modules/keyboards from Korg, Alesis, and Roland. I don't know how it holds up against sample CD's. I would at the very least compare the two side by side...you may want to opt for the Pro. |

Re: alesis DM5 opinions
I don't like how the dm5 sounds that much. As far as percussion oes, every drum module is perfect, bt for real drum sounds....not the dm5. They are however great for the trigger inputs, and are the standard. The dmpro is really good, and has more trig inputs and they are more accurate and have more detailed parameters. You can also do some limited sampling stuff with it, and it has a whole S@#T load of outputs on the thing. Well worth it.

Re: alesis DM5 opinions
I had a DM5 and sold it. Not much better than the old D4 or the SM16 really. The kicks /snares and toms were usable but it was always the cymbals that let it down. I now use Drum / bass expansion card on a Roland JV1080 for K/S/T but record live Hi Hats and Cymbals. ------------------ PFG
