DP4.x on a PTHD3 rig - I have some questions...

Hi all,

I’m in need of advise, I’m about to embark on a large project involving tons of MIDI.

The rig that’s going to be used is a PTHD3 with three 192s, MIDI I/O, PTv6.2.3, X10.2.3 on a G5 2GHz with 2.5GB of RAM.

This rig is working fine, I do a whole lot of mixing and production work on this set up several times a week with out any glitches.

Here’s where my uncertainty lies, the client is in Digital Performer 4.x and once the Project is successfully transfered to the PT rig I will be working by the clients request in Digital Performer DAE mode.

Now, I’m not worried about Performer I’m very familiar with DP3.x and all previous versions, been using DP under MOTUs MAS for years.

What I’m asking is, what should I expect when DP is in DAE mode?

Will I still have access to all my TDM Plug-ins? Or will MAS take over and just stream audio some how to the 192s.

Will MTS work with my MIDI I/O (this is a big one), if not, will I need to purchase a MOTU interface?

Will MTS work with my MIDI I/O if Digital Performer 4.x is the front end of my Digidesign hardware?

Anyone using DP4.x on their OSX HD rigs?

Sorry everybody, I need to put this back on the radar.

Will MTS (midi time stamping) still work on my MIDI I/O if Digital Performer 4.x is fronting my HD3 rig in DAE mode?

Yes everything will work just fine under DAE including plugs and so forth except plug-in automation.
Plug in and soft synth automation will not function under DAE.
I have done a lot of projects working with this set up without any problems.

I really appreciate the post, whew... it looks like this will be relatively smooth after all.

Can I please impose and ask you what MIDI interface you're using?
