Sounds great man!
Let me know how it goes if you wouldnt mind. Do you still have your mojo hooked up? I thought it was a one or the other situation, that they couldnt both be on the same system? |

oops, sorry - wasn't concentrating. Never used Mojo. Ludicrous price for that silly box. Canopus or extended desktop.

AHHHH!
That explains it, I have a canopus which works gangbusters in terms of pic quality, but crashes 8.0.3 plus no Avid video support. I am debating a blackmagic card and just straight up telling people I cant do Avid media anymore. if it supports HD and looks great you know? |

Re: Anyone here have a Mojo with 8.0.3 that plays quicktimes flawlessly?
OK, well I just got my first pro-res pix in with the OMF. It's a ProRes HQ that's come in at 70gb for a 53 minute show in 1080. It's going out the BM IntensityPro via HDMI to an HDTV.
In short, it's beautiful. It scrolls about on the timeline like an mjpeg, but it's full HD. Scrubbing is smooth as silk. I have the same Mac as you with 8gig of ram. With the video playing and a 12 track OMF, PT is running 2-3% RTAS and disk at 0-1%, PCI at 0%. There is no performance hit by the looks of things. I'm really excited. If I were running a studio with multiple monitors i'd just be getting an Octava HDMI splitter/amp and giving everyone the lovely pictures. I can't wait to start laying tracks up against these images! It's been 15 years since I started in this game and I can finally look at decent random access pictures. Hallelujah! If I was receiving Avid video by default, I would just get the Avid QT components and make myself a ProRes in QTPro. This is beautiful performance. |

MacPro octocore 2.26, 8gb RAM, full set of internal drives, 002 on firewire port and intensity in the next slot up from the Nvidia GT120.

Thanks, and PT LE 8.0.1 and 10.5.8, right?
I am extremely sensitive to sync issues, so how consistent and in sync would you rate your setup (at HD picture and, say, 60+ 24bit/48kHz audio tracks)? Thanks, Daniel |

Re: Anyone here have a Mojo with 8.0.3 that plays quicktimes flawlessly?
I'd say it was rock solid in sync for a computer playback system. I couldn't fault it over a 50 minute playback. I'll never trust non-linear pictures as much as I would a tape, but i've also never had a sync problem using either a canopus or the new Intensity. I know it is supposed to be +/- 1f but i've never seen it go bad, and it doesn't drift. I've never had any complaints from the edit where they lay back my mixes to tape when I do that workflow. If there's a problem, it is always, always because they have changed something in the online and disregarded that the audio will need to be fixed.

I should be laughing at how spot on that is, but that had happened me to many times... So in this set up does the BM card do any processing or are 7 of your cores busy doing the math? Daniel |
